Dr.-Ing. Frank Pallas

Lupe

Diplom-Informatiker

Frank has been postdoc in the ISE research group since September 2015. He holds a diploma and a PhD in computer science, both from TU Berlin. Before joining ISE, he was interim professor at the now suspended chair for "Computer Science & Law" at TU Berlin and held senior research positions at KIT's Center for Applied Legal Studies as well as at FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik.

Frank's research and teaching focus is on interdisciplinary aspects of cutting-edge information systems, particularly integrating technological, legal and economic perspectives. Questions of information security, privacy / data protection and the regulatory power of technology have always played a major role in this regard. Frank has a strong record of ELSA (ethical, legal and societal aspects) research in nationally and internationally funded projects and is a regular reviewer for relevant conferences and journals as well as for national and international funding agencies. Last but not least, he is also the initiator and driver behind OpenSense.network
