Jacob joined the ISE research group in August 2015 after graduating in business engineering at Karlsruhe Insitute of Technology (KIT).

Jacob's research focus is on novel concepts and approaches in distributed systems design with an emphasis on decentralized application architectures. This includes blockchain technology (e.g., Bitcoin and Ethereum) as well as peer-to-peer storage systems (e.g., Interplanetary File System - IPFS). Besides these platforms themselves, Jacob is also interested in the design and implementation of applications built on top of them (e.g., smart contract systems).
